Product Description

Oxandrolone tablets contain oxandrolone as the primary substance, a synthetic derivative derived from testosterone. Oxandrolone stimulates anabolic processes while inhibiting catabolic ones caused by glucocorticoids, resulting in increased muscle mass, enhanced connective tissue, and reduced body fat.

Oxandrolone is applicable in therapeutic interventions for conditions involving protein synthesis disorders due to prolonged corticosteroid administration, various origins of cachexia, injuries, extensive burns, recovery after infectious diseases and radiation therapy, muscular dystrophy, weight loss following major surgeries, osteoporosis, hypo- and aplastic anemia, chronic hemolytic anemia.

Contraindications include:

  • Allergy (hypersensitivity) to oxandrolone or any other components within this medication.
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • Acute and chronic prostatitis.
  • Prostate, breast, or ovarian cancer.
  • Renal or hepatic failure.
  • Conditions related to kidney diseases (nephritis, nephrosis, nephrotic syndrome).
  • Atherosclerosis.
  • Ischemic heart disease.
  • Hypercalcemia.

Dosage and Side Effects

The prescribed dose of Oxandrolone should always be followed according to your doctor's instructions. It is administered orally, and the film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of water without being crushed, divided, or chewed.

The usual dosage ranges from 2.5 to 20 mg per day, distributed into 2-4 doses. Typically, therapy lasts for 2-4 weeks, and subsequent treatment may be undertaken after one or two months.

As with all medications, Oxandrolone may induce side effects, though not everyone experiences them. In therapeutic doses, side effects are improbable. However, during extended treatment, the following adverse reactions have been reported:

  • Liver tumors. Elderly individuals may experience hypertrophy and/or prostate cancer.
  • Changes in blood tests, leading to decreased blood coagulation and a tendency to bleed.
  • Hypersensitivity reactions.
  • Insomnia, arousal, depression, confusion.
  • Suppression of gonadotropin secretion.
  • Nausea, vomiting, reduced appetite.
  • Impaired glucose tolerance.
  • Signs of virilization in women: acne, male pattern baldness, excessive hair growth, irreversible deepening of the voice, hoarseness, menstrual irregularities, dysmenorrhea, clitoral hypertrophy.
  • In men: suppression of sperm production, mammary gland enlargement, priapism, testicular atrophy and oligospermia, impotence, bladder irritation.
  • Gynecomastia.
  • Changes in libido for both sexes.
  • Fluid retention causing peripheral edema, hypercalcemia, progression of atherosclerosis.
  • Liver dysfunction, cholestasis, jaundice (yellowing of the skin), and rarely, liver necrosis.
  • Hepatocellular tumors and peliosis hepatis with prolonged therapy.
  • Acne, slight abnormal hair growth (hirsutism).
  • Elevated levels of biochemical parameters in the blood, particularly in patients with strict bed rest or metastatic breast cancer. Increased hepatic function indices and bone pain.
