Airclen tablets contain clenbuterol hydrochloride as the active substance, known for its rapid bronchodilator action. It effectively relaxes bronchial smooth muscles, alleviates hoarseness, and facilitates improved breathing. Airclen is primarily used to manage bronchitis with bronchial obstructive syndrome and for preventing and alleviating bronchospasm in conditions like bronchial asthma and other lung diseases.
Contraindications:
- Allergy (hypersensitivity) to clenbuterol or any other component in the drug.
- Thyrotoxicosis (excessive thyroid function).
- First and third trimesters of pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding period.
- Individuals under 18 years old.
- Tachyarrhythmia.
- Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.
- Ischemic heart disease.
- Recent myocardial infarction (acute phase).
- Angle-closure glaucoma.
- Pheochromocytoma.
Dosage and Side Effects
Airclen is taken orally by swallowing the film-coated tablets whole with water, avoiding crushing or splitting them. The standard dosage is 20 mcg twice daily, in the morning and evening. The maintenance dose is reduced to 10 mcg twice daily. For severe conditions initially, a dosage of 40 mcg is taken twice a day, which is tapered down once the condition improves.
Airclen, like all medications, can induce side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) include finger tremors at the beginning of treatment, nervous excitement, dizziness, insomnia, restlessness, headache, increased tremors, and muscle stiffness in patients with Parkinson's syndrome. Less frequent side effects (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) include nausea, decreased blood potassium levels, elevated blood glucose, skin redness, and increased sweating.
